What Google checks
Google verifies with an SMS code or, if you choose it, a voice call that reads the code. Because of the call option, a landline works for verification, which is unusual on this list. Google limits how many accounts a single number can verify and refuses numbers it has seen on many disabled accounts.
- Later prompts. Sign-ins from a new country or device trigger a code to the number. Recovery uses it too.
- Google Voice is different. Linking a Google Voice number requires a US number that is not itself VoIP, and Google checks that specifically. Our lines are for the Google account, not for Google Voice forwarding.
- Never displayed. The number is not shown to anyone.
Which line and country to pick
Either line type works because of the voice-call option. Take a mobile line if you may also use the number elsewhere; a landline is enough for a Google account alone and costs less. The United States, the United Kingdom and Germany are accepted without fuss.
Make the number irrelevant. Add an authenticator app or a passkey, print the backup codes, and set a recovery e-mail. Then a lost line is an inconvenience, not a locked account.
Step by step
- Pick the line. Choose a mobile or landline number in United States or another recommended country. The exact price, activation included, is shown before you pay.
- Pay in crypto. Send any of 8 cryptocurrencies to a one-time deposit address. The line is live about a minute after the payment confirms; no e-mail, no document.
- Enter the number in Google. Type the number where Google asks for it and request the code — by SMS, or by voice call if offered.
- Read the code in the panel. The SMS lands in your inbox with the code extracted and copyable; a voice call is answered by the voicemail and transcribed. Developers get it on a webhook.
- Lock the account. Set Authenticator app or passkey; backup codes so the account does not depend on the number alone.
If Google refuses the number. It is the range, not the line. Ask for a swap — free within 7 days — and you get a number from a different carrier block, with the remaining period carried over.
Keeping the account
- Backup codes and an authenticator on day one.
- Keep the line while it is still a recovery option, or remove it from the account once the other factors are in place.
- One number, few accounts. Google refuses a number after a handful of accounts and looks harder at all of them.

Can I create a Google account with a virtual number?
Yes. Google delivers the code by SMS or voice call to our lines. Numbers seen on many disabled accounts are refused, which is why a dedicated line matters.
Does Google accept a landline?
Yes, through the voice-call option: Google calls the number and reads the code. A landline is enough for a Google account and costs less than a mobile line.
Can I use this number for Google Voice?
No. Google Voice requires a US number that is not classified as VoIP to forward to. Our lines are for verifying and securing the Google account itself.
Will Google ask for the number again?

How many Google accounts can one number verify?
